The SCAR Sustainable Animal Production Collaborative Working Group (SCAR SAP CWG) organised an expert workshop on the future of livestock production. Researchers from Wageningen University presented a comparative analysis of 20 national livestock strategies during the workshop. The STAR-IDAZ International Research Consortium (IRC) on Animal Health includes four Regional Networks to facilitate regional coordination, with the AHW CWG operating as the European Network. Earlier this year, SCAR ARCH SWG and SCAR FOREST SWG published a joint policy brief: “Combatting imported deforestation – challenges for science”. The document is the result of a fruitful collaboration between both the SCAR ARCH SWG and the SCAR FOREST SWG.

On 20 and 21 June 2022, the SCAR AKIS SWG met in Lugo, Spain, for their 12th meeting. The meeting further expanded upon the previous meeting. It focused mainly on education and on training of advisors, digital training and social innovation.
