Highlights from the French Presidency
At the SCAR Steering Group Meeting on 11 March 2022, the French Presidency gave an overview of their priorities at the. The French Presidency called attention to the current difficult times due to the war in Ukraine and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Presidency highlighted that European food sovereignty, including protein autonomy, is now more important than ever. The need to push the agroecology transition forward, producing in a more sustainable manner, is more important than ever. Reducing pesticides and finding nature-based alternatives, applying low carbon agriculture, and keeping carbon in soils and agricultural markets alive are some of the levers promoted by the French Presidency. The French Presidency is supporting Cluster 6 Partnerships.
