Sylvia Burssens

Is the coordinator of Agrolink Flanders since 1/1/2014.

Previously she was active as a senior scientist and project coordinator for the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) and the Institute of Plant Biotechnology Outreach (IPBO) at Ghent University between 1987 and 2013.

She studied Biology at Ghent University and received a PhD in Biotechnology in 1999.

She has been actively involved in numerous national and European research projects and has worked with several UN agencies such as the United Industrial Development Organization and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations

She has been active In the International Industrial Biotechnology Network (UNIDO-IBBN) and was involved in the FP7 ALCUE KBBE project.
