The 2^nd annual Training webinar for new SCAR Working Group members has been held on 8 July 2024. It followed the 1^st webinar, held on 18 September 2024.

The webinar was followed by about 30 people, most of them “newcomers” to the SCAR world, from different countries and different SCAR groups, and offered insights into SCAR’s objectives and initiatives, including a presentation of the updated 2025 version of the 'Induction Package', a user-friendly guide to familiarize with the SCAR environment firstly issued in 2024. The webinar also provided an opportunity for new Groups’ members to connect with other newcomers and more experienced SCAR members.

Contributions by the RefreSCAR coordinator, the SCAR Secretariat and EC representatives, and by three Groups’ representatives (from Strategic WGs "Bioeconomy" and “Fish” and from Collaborative WG "Sustainable Animal Production") gave participants the possibility to familiarise with SCAR history, structure, aims and activities, and to discuss what type of contribution Group’s members are encouraged to give, but also what they can get from this experience.

Two participatory sessions were also organised to give participants the possibility to express their expectations and to ask clarifications about their activity with the SCAR, and to design together an ideal SCAR Group mandate, in the aim to reflect collectively on all the possible activities a SCAR Group can carry out. At the end, a live evaluation survey of the event was submitted, which witnessed a general appreciation, and highlighted suggestions for next year.
